Welcome to the 2017 Crystal Frolics website. The Crystal Frolics is hosted by the Crystal Frolics Committee, a non-profit organization, which is comprised of members of Crystal civic groups, service organizations, local businesses and interested residents. These organizations include the West Metro Fire Relief Association & Auxiliary, the local VFW Post 494, Crystal Lion’s Club, Boy Scout Troop 590, Cooper Football, Freedom Riders Motorcycle Group and the City of Crystal.

Proceeds from the beer and food tents support the service organizations and in turn support the Crystal Frolics. Without the support of these organizations, the Frolics would not be able to happen each year, since we operate through donations. This financial support funds the softball tournament, fireworks, music and other activities. We ask that you help support the Crystal Frolics by purchasing food and beverages from the many Civic Organizations located at Becker and Welcome Parks. In addition, beer and wine coolers should not be brought into the parks, but purchased from the West Metro Fire Relief Association tent (Becker) and the Crystal Lions (Welcome). Alcoholic beverages must be purchased on site. Event Security will check your coolers, as it is unlawful to bring alcoholic beverages into Crystal parks.

Remember to buy a Frolics button and register it to win prizes donated by local businesses. Prizes include restaurant gift cards, flowers, pool passes and more! Drawings will be held on Fridays during June & July. Proceeds from the buttons pay for the additional security to ensure your safety and well-being. In conjunction with the City of Crystal, we are doing all we can to continue to keep the Frolics a safe and enjoyable family friendly community event. You also need a registered button to participate and win the Search for the Crystal Ball.

Every evening, at the carnival, is Family Night. No one under the age of 18 will be admitted into the carnival after 4:00 pm without a parent or guardian. After 6:00 pm all carnival goers will need a security wristband to enter the carnival. There will be a $3.00 entry fee which includes a ticket for a free ride and a security wristband. There will be a different colored Frolics security wristband each evening. Children under the age of 2 are free.

Join us on Sunday afternoon for the Frolics Family Festival at Becker Park. Before the fun begins, join us as we honor the USA with our flag ceremony hosted by the VFW Post 494 Flag Honor Guard. Then it’s time to walk through the free petting zoo or the kids (under 85 lbs.) can ride a pony for $5.00 brought to you by Walton’s Hollow. Home Depot will have a workshop for kids to take home a project they build themselves. Three Rivers Park District will have their outreach van with fun activities such as a worm compost bin, a green screen photo booth, games & more! You can enjoy all of the above while listening to Kidsdance. Listen, dance and participate as they play music geared toward the kids. There will be a free book giveaway, thanks to Friends of Ridgedale Library. Except for the pony ride, everything is free.

Your help and support will go a long way in keeping the Frolics one of the best weekends in Minnesota. Thank you for your understanding and for supporting the Crystal Frolics.
